Located on the south shore of the Loire estuary, facing Pornichet and Saint-Nazaire, the small seaside resort of Saint-Brévin-les-Pins has everything to please: its wide opening to the ocean, its splendid beaches and its hiking trails make it a must for family holidays in the Loire-Atlantique department.

A popular destination for water sports enthusiasts, Saint-Brévin-les-Pins is undeniably open to the sea. Its coastline, spread over more than 8 kilometres of coastline, offers its visitors magnificent and long, long, fine sandy beaches. Pointeau Beach, Pine Beach, Rally Beach and Horizon Beach will be perfect for your idleness in the sun. But they are also the perfect place to practice a wide range of water sports, such as windsurfing, kayaking, windsurfing, but also surfing or kitesurfing thanks to spots well known to lovers of the discipline.

The wooded dunes along the beaches are a huge open-air playground for fans of outdoor activities, from kiting to hiking to mountain biking. There are 7 marked hiking trails in the area of the resort, to the delight of walkers. First of all, the GR8 runs along the entire Atlantic coast: it will allow you to explore the entire coast of Saint-Brévin, to discover all its faces and the slightest secrets. The "Encounter with the Estuary" route (11 kilometres) is highly recommended, as is the "Circuit de l'Estuaire" (9.8 kilometres), which offers incomparable views of the Loire estuary. The Pointeau military heritage discovery trail will plunge you into the heart of the city's history, whose seaside is dotted with several blockhouses, current witnesses to the military strategies of the Second World War. The Pointeau, Le Boivre (12.7 kilometres) and Sentier Vert circuits are also recommended for a perfect visit to Saint-Brévin-les-Pins. By bike? Here again Saint-Brévin will satisfy all your desires. With more than 40 kilometres of bicycle paths, combined with the Vélocéan trails (140 kilometres from Piriac-sur-Mer to Saint-Nazaire), as well as those of Eurovélo 6, Eurovélo 1 and Vélodyssée, you can discover all the most beautiful maritime landscapes on the Loire-Atlantique coast.

Finally, would you like to discover the historical and cultural capital of Saint-Brévin-les-Pins? Heading for the Pierre Attelée Forest: the only dune forest in the whole of the Loire-Atlantique, this exceptional forest with direct access to the ocean is a popular place to walk, with more than 100,000 pines (hence the name Saint-Brévin-les-Pins...) under which you can picnic and hike. You will be able to see the "Menhir de la Pierre Attelée", a megalith nearly 3 meters high that makes the reputation of the forest. Saint-Brévin has a plethora of menhirs and dolmens on its territory: the Dolmen de la Briordais, the Dolmen of the Rossignols, the Menhir of the Pierre Couchée, the Menhir of the Pierre de Gargantua or the Pierre du Boivre, but also the stone "Les Fesses du Diable" or the Pont gaulois (Pont-Bossu) are among the best known.
