Nature, culture, escape: this is what awaits you if it is in Tour-de-Faure that you pack your bags. A small village in the Lot, it is located in the heart of a historical area that is very popular with holidaymakers, between chasms and magnificent caves.

Watered by the calm waters of the Lot, Tour-de-Faure is located in the heart of the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park. 32 kilometres east of Cahors, 8 kilometres from Cabrerets and 2 kilometres from Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, this picturesque village is the perfect place to stay and discover the wonders of the Lot, away from the major neighbouring tourist destinations. Perched at an altitude of 375 metres, this village has beautiful historical sites such as the dolmen of Peyre-Carbonnières, the oldest witness to local history, which attests to the ancient occupation of the city. Saint-Étienne's church is also worth seeing: built during the 18th century, it is one of the most beautiful monuments in Tour-de-Faure. The Tour de Faure, a high 4-storey tower (18th century), is also emblematic of the town, to which it gave its name. From its heights, it offers a very beautiful panoramic view of the nearby medieval village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. The Crégols lock and its old barges, the Montanhagol fortified house (worth a visit for its view of the cliffs and the Lot) and the former port of Tour-de-Faure are to be added to your list of visits.

Ideally located, the town of Tour-de-Faure will allow you to discover some of the most beautiful corners of the Lot. On the opposite bank is Saint-Cirq-Lapopie: known as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", it can be visited both on foot to admire its flowery and intimate alleys, and along the water for pleasant walks along the meanders of the Lot. A little further on, the castle of Cénevières is worth a visit, as is the town of Cabrerets: the latter, located on the GR 651, is full of picturesque residences and wealthy buildings. With its castle overlooking the river and its magnificent Pech Merle caves, it is an absolute must during your stay in Tour-de-Faure. Cahors, Brengues, Figeac, Rocamadour and Padirac (and its famous chasm) are all sites that are inseparable from the history of the Causses du Quercy Natural Park.

In terms of activities, hiking is certainly the most popular sport in Tour-de-Faure. Several hiking trails are located along the river, as well as on the towpath in the cliffs, but you will also find trails crossing the causses, and circuits of the old Way of Saint James, very popular with pilgrims. As for more refreshing activities, Tour-de-Faure has nothing to be ashamed of: thanks to several water sports centres such as "Lotaventure", you will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities: water hiking on the Lot, caving, canyoning, rock climbing, fishing, climbing, but also mountain bike and electric bicycle rental... A delight for the whole family!
