Halfway between Avranches and Mont-Saint-Michel, Courtils invites you to discover its most beautiful faces. Facing the channel of the Sée and Selune rivers, this typically Norman destination is extremely popular with visitors, and especially with walkers who come in large numbers every year to walk its (very) many hiking trails. Any particular itinerary to recommend? La Roche Torin, 18 kilometres long: intended for experienced hikers, this marked trail will lead you along the Pointe de la Roche Torun, to finally discover Tombelaine and Mont-Saint-Michel, after a crossing in its famous quicksand. To get to know everything about this extraordinary place visited every year by many holidaymakers from all over the world, head for the Maison de la Baie: this interpretation centre will tell you everything about the birth of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, its training over the years and its facilities.

Whether you walk, cycle or drive, a visit to Mont-Saint-Michel is a must during your stay in Courtils; small, very small, this rocky islet of barely a kilometre in circumference is full of things to see, visit or eat, so that it will be impossible for you to be bored. First stop: the visit of the Abbey of the Mont. Take the time from the Mont to admire the magnificent spectacle of the tides, immortalize it from the bridge bridge for a beautiful postcard, visit the Tiphaine dwelling on Main Street, but also the Museum of the Sea and Ecology to learn everything about the tides phenomenon. Lovers of form sensations? How about a flight over Mont-Saint-Michel in an ultralight aircraft, or a quieter kayak ride around the mountain? Or are you no longer attracted to local cuisine? Norman cuisine is one of the jewels in the crown of French gastronomy, and one that can only be repeated too often. While passing through Courtils and in the region, go eat an exquisite omelette from La Mère Poulard, THE specialty of the Mont par excellence that we highly recommend, if you only had to choose one.
