Explore Arzon
Anchored at the end of the Rhuys peninsula, Arzon takes advantage of its particularly privileged location between Quiberon Bay and the Gulf of Morbihan. Arzon is a holiday resort adored by lovers of wide natural spaces, pleasure and idleness with its two seaside resorts, Port-Navalo and Le Crouesty, and offers its visitors seven beautiful beaches, sometimes family, sometimes sporting, which will undoubtedly allow you to spend wonderful holidays at the rhythm of the tides and the Breton sun.
With its 33 kilometres of coastline, Arzon is one of the rare towns to enjoy the presence of two seaside resorts on your territory. With its two ports, Port Navalo (an old 19th century pirate landmark) and Port Crouesty (built in the 20th century), Arzon is a city undeniably turned towards the sea, offering fresh water sailors and experienced sailors the opportunity to make numerous excursions at sea, to discover the 365 islands (according to local legend) that adorn the Gulf of Morbihan.
If the village of Arzon is not marked by a rich heritage, it nevertheless has a very beautiful church in its city centre, which you will have the opportunity to discover during your strolls in its small charming alleys decorated with beautiful typically Breton residences with white facades. Surrounded by many small hamlets, Arzon will delight hiking enthusiasts. During the summer, the village lives at the rhythm of the numerous activities organized on its marked out paths, it is at this precise moment that it is most alive. However, if you prefer quiet excursions and deserted beaches, then it is in spring or after August that you will have to pack your bags in Arzon. By taking the coastal paths, you will be able to contemplate the fauna and the local flora as well as the various points which constellent the Arzonnaise coast, Pointe du Bêche while passing by those of Penbert, Monteno, Kerners, the point of Bilgroix and that of Saint-Nicolas. At the gateway to Arzon is one of the most beautiful sites on the island : the Tumulus de Tumiac. Also called "Caesar's Hill", it will be impossible for you to miss this great mound of Neolithic rocks, from which the panorama over Arzon and the coast is breathtaking ! If the Rhuys peninsula lends itself perfectly to hiking along its coastal paths facing the sea, it is also ideal for bicycle rides thanks to more than 100 kilometres of cycle routes. You can discover the Moulin à Marées de Pen Castel (between the Pointe de Saint-Nicolas and the Pointe du Bêche) or the Cairn de Petit Mont, beautiful Neolithic tombs surrounded by dolmens on the Crouesty side. Whether you are on foot, by bike, by car, by camper, by horse or by motorbike, the famous "Route des Ducs de Bretagne" is certainly one of the itineraries not to be missed during your stay in Arzon. 280 kilometres long and divided into two distinct circuits, this tourist road crosses the Morbihan from Comper-en-Brocéliande to Pontivy. Gathering dozens of sites more beautiful the ones than the others, you will discover from castles to museums all the richness of the local heritage. Not far from Arzon is one of these sites : the old castle of Suscinio. Absolutely magnificent, this castle built at the end of the Middle Ages was one of the residences of the Dukes of Brittany. Nestled between dunes and marshes just a few metres from Sarzeau beach (and 10 minutes from downtown Arzon), this ducal residence is open to visitors and every year hosts numerous musical and theatrical performances for young and old.
Dynamic, Arzon makes water sports enthusiasts happy every year thanks to its wide range of infrastructures for all levels. The turquoise sea which borders its beautiful beaches is the scene of many activities, going from surfing to paddle, via catamaran, sailing, jet-skiing, sea fishing, scuba diving, sea kayaking... You will not know where to start! You will also have the opportunity, thanks to the presence of more than 5 shipping companies, to set sail for Île aux Moines, Houat, Hoedic, Île d'Arz and Belle-Île-en-Mer. If, however, you prefer the mainland, then the "Plage des Fontaines", the "Treno", "Port Lenn", "Port Navalo", "Port Sable" and "Kever" beaches will make you happy for long breaks of idleness under the sun. Finally, the "Plage du Foego", Arzon's main beach, offers you the choice between many activities for the whole family. On the agenda ?
