In the heart of the Morbihan coastline, in the immediate vicinity of the port city of Lorient, Larmor-Plage attracts more and more visitors every year.

A classified tourist resort, located opposite the beautiful island of Groix (just 8 kilometres as the crow flies), Larmor-Plage enjoys a very good reputation among holidaymakers. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, it unrolls along its coast long beaches of fine sand absolutely magnificent. There are 6 of these family beaches, inviting you to escape and rest, against the backdrop of the blue sea merging with the sky. The beach of Port-Maria, bordered by the promenade of the same name, is certainly the most lively in the seaside resort. With its restaurants, terraces and small shops, it is the perfect place to enjoy an ice cream facing the sea at sunset. The vast expanse of pristine sand on Toulhars beach at low tide is the ideal place for beach games, from sand castles to beach volleyball tournaments. Want to be calm? Direction the beach of Nourriguel in front of Port-Louis, in the bay of Lorient, those of Kerpape or Loqueltas. Sportsmen? It is impossible for you to miss Kerguélen beach: more than a kilometre long, it also offers a wide range of water sports, from sailing to paddle, coastal rescue, sea swimming, kitesurfing, windsurfing, catamaran, surfing, kayaking and scuba diving. Accessible to people with reduced mobility, this very lively beach is one of the most popular in Larmor-Plage, but also one of the most beautiful. Take the time to stroll along the side of its promenade, to discover one of the most beautiful jewels of the resort: the villas of Kernevel. Built at the very end of the 19th century, this complex of three large buildings includes magnificent residences, such as the Villa Ker Margaret (which houses the harbour master's office), the Villa Kerozen and the Villa Kerlilon, which was opened to the public during Heritage Days.

Looking for a quiet walk? At dawn, head for the marina: to the sound of the rattling of the boats moored, stroll facing the sea, which is tinged with soft and reassuring colours at sunrise. As soon as you have breakfast, cafés, restaurants and merchants open their doors to welcome visitors: it is the perfect opportunity to have breakfast on the terrace, before the crowd takes over the promenade. Another ideal spot to see the sun rise, or go to bed? La Pointe des jokeurs: easily accessible from the wharf, this emblematic place in Larmor-Plage was once a meeting place for fishermen and fish merchants. It is impossible to stay in Larmor-Plage without a getaway on the island of Groix, located at the southern entrance to the harbour of Lorient: about forty minutes from the coast, this wild island, one of the jewels of southern Brittany, is teeming with coastal paths (such as the 27 kilometre tour of the island), and cycle routes for all tastes (over 40 kilometres of trails). Back in Larmor-Plage, take a walk to the "Kasino" of the resort, to its Sunday market in the square of Notre-Dame de Larmor church, to the Fort du Kernével facing the citadel of Port-Louis, or even to the Oceanic Park of Kerguélen, a magnificent and protected site, renowned for its dunes and ancient coastal marshes spread over 1.5 kilometres facing the sea: a paradise for lovers of ornithology and nature !
