It is in the Gulf of Morbihan, at the confluence of the rias of Auray and Le Bono, that the commune of Le Bono is located. 15 kilometers from Vannes and 4 kilometers from Auray, Le Bono was once known for its important maritime activity, with more than a hundred boats and 400 sailors within its walls, but this charming city is now renowned for its tourist activity. But it is its built heritage that will first seduce the souls sensitive to the Breton charm with its old stones. If there are many walks available here, don't miss the downtown area of Le Bono to discover the small gourmet restaurants as well as the artists' galleries that give Le Bono a picturesque character.

On the list of things to see? The Le Bono Suspension Bridge! Remaining today one of the two oldest bridges of this type in France, this wooden bridge is registered in the inventory of Historical Monuments and is accessible for pedestrian walks. Its little secret? During the 20th century, it was redesigned according to the plans of none other than Gustave Eiffel. Its authentic charm is also evident in its small port, which seduces sea lovers by day as well as at nightfall. Also, to admire an unobstructed view of the village and the port, take the Joseph Le Brix Bridge (also called Kernours Bridge): 320 meters long, it offers beautiful views of the suspension bridge as well as of the town of Le Bono. From the port, take the coastal path to discover the outlines of the town!

As far as activities are concerned, don't miss the Forban du Bono, a replica of an authentic traditional fishing boat from the 1900's, go for a walk around the Notre-Dame-de-Becquerel chapel, or the Kernours tumulus and the boat cemetery, or opt for a horseback riding excursion, or aquatic activities according to your desires! Depending on the tides, you can go sea kayaking, paddle, canoeing, or even opt for sea trips in the Gulf of Morbihan, known to be one of the most beautiful places in Brittany! And for swimming, the beaches of Locmiquel, Locmariaquer or Arzon and Saint-Philibert will not fail to delight you with their beauty!
