With its old stone houses covered with slate roofs, wooden balconies, small alleys and superb landscapes, this resort is an ideal destination for mountain lovers. The highest village in the Maurienne Valley on the border with Italy, this family village resort nestled at the foot of the magnificent Col de l'Iseran will allow you to reconnect with the authentic mountain, far from the ultra-concrete ski resorts. With 25 kilometres of slopes and 1200 metres of altitude difference between 1800 and 3000 metres, the resort of Bonneval-sur-Arc offers magnificent spaces facing the Vanoise National Park, perfect for skiers looking for tranquility and beautiful descents. A high mountain domain on a human scale nestled in the heart of unspoilt nature, it is a remarkable skiing spot despite the few kilometres of slopes it contains. In all, you will have access to 5 green, 8 blue, 5 red and 2 black trails spread over three sectors: "Les Lacs", "Valonnet" and "Les 3000". Beginner skiers? Visit the "Les Lacs" and "Valonnet" sectors to learn about the joys of skiing in complete tranquility. 3 green slopes are perfect for families and novices: the "Mésange" slope (Pechaillet ski lift), the "Pierre Fendue" slope (ski lift of the same name) and the "Corneille" slope accessible via the Pré du Vas ski lift will certainly make you happy, at the very bottom of the domain. Once the basics of skiing have been assimilated, head for the blue slopes of the "Les Lacs" sector for its beautiful curves and pristine landscapes. Experienced skiers? Head for the "Les 3000" sector for its slopes designed for experienced skiers and its beautiful descents from the heights of the domain. Freeride enthusiasts will also find beautiful routes to follow, such as the path of the upper glacier of the Vallonnet, or the corridors of Andagne. When it comes to new slides, the resort is not to be outdone. Along the "Bergeronnette" blue slope, you will find a rather playful boardercross linking bumps and raised bends, and on the side of the "Tétras Lyre" blue slope, there is a snowpark for all levels. As snow is particularly abundant in Bonneval-sur-Arc, cross-country skiing is therefore a very popular activity. In winter and spring, it is one of the resort's flagship activities. The immense virgin spaces of Iseran (2000 metres), Albaron (3637 metres) or Ouille du Midi (3042 metres) are very popular with ski tourers. If you prefer cross-country skiing, however, know that by following the Arc River for 3 kilometres via the "Sallanches-Fauvettes" trail, you can reach the Nordic domain of Bessans. Located on a huge plateau between the Azerole Valley and the sublime Charbonnel glacier, it is one of the most famous sites for Nordic skiing with no less than 133 kilometres of slopes. From the village of Bonneval, whether you enjoy cross-country skiing, hiking or snowshoeing, you will also find a Nordic trail that will take you to the hamlet of l'Ecot, one of the most beautiful traditional villages in the valley, to discover absolutely.

Whatever your level, you will have to go to the highest peaks of the domain (via chairlift or ski lift) to contemplate some of the most beautiful mountain panoramas in the region: once on the roof of the resort, in front of you, you will see all the magnificence of the mountain against the backdrop of the Vanoise National Park, the Barre des Ecrins, the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Col de l'Iseran and Italy.

In order to satisfy young and old, skiers and non-skiers alike, Bonneval-sur-Arc has a wide choice of fun and sporting activities. Adventurers? Head for the sumptuous Canyon de l'Echo, Tralenta or Saint Landry for an introduction to ice climbing. You can also try speedflying, "speedring" (a kind of mixture of paragliding and skiing), but also sledging, ice skating, airboarding and snowscoot (BMX on snow).

During the summer, whether you are a great sportsman or a contemplative at heart, hiking and mountain biking excursions will be in the spotlight. The "Refuge du Carro" hike along the Balcony Trail will allow you to contemplate the beauty of the Albaron, Vallonnet and Evettes glaciers for one or two days. The "Col des Fours" hike is ideal for families to discover the unique world of the high mountains with magnificent panoramas as a gift, overlooking the Haute Tarentaise and Haute Maurienne. Don't miss the Gorges de la Reculaz and the Cirque des Evettes, one of the most beautiful sites in the valley! And if you are a thrill-seeker, you can go canyoning at l'Ecot, rafting, whitewater fishing or paragliding, a unique way to contemplate all the particularities of the mountain in winter and summer.
