With its breathtaking views of the snow-covered Alps, Les Bottières is nestled in the heart of beautifully preserved meadows and forests. With its slopes between 1300 and 1900 metres above sea level, this family resort par excellence offers, in addition to its 55 kilometres of ski slopes, a gateway to the great ski area of Les Sybelles and its 310 kilometres of slopes, giving ski lovers the chance to indulge in their favourite activities at the bottom of the highest mountain ranges in the Alps. On the agenda ? Alpine skiing, telemark, snowboarding, sledging, cross-country skiing and cross-country skiing are among the most popular activities in the resort. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced skier, everyone will find the perfect activity to have fun in this resort. A veritable haven of peace, Les Bottières offers holidaymakers the chance to attack its snow-covered needles and passes, whether you are a beginner or a snowshoe hiking expert. Starting from the resort, several routes for all levels walk through forests, passes and valleys to allow young and old to enjoy a large bowl of air, immersed in the wild nature that surrounds Les Bottières. During your excursions through its clearings and pristine ridges, you may have the chance to cross paths with hares, groundhogs, badgers, foxes or chamois, especially if you walk early in the morning. Climbing the Etendard peak, you will reach one of the most beautiful belvederes of the whole massif, and will discover a breathtaking view on the Maurienne and the Etendard Glacier. Ski lessons, nurseries, play areas and children's clubs, everything is gathered in the heart of this resort for young and old to have a good holiday. The toboggan run of Les Bottières is ideal for the afternoons of family skiing : located behind the restaurant "La Corbacière", it is the scene of many falls and laughter sessions that everyone will remember once the holidays are over. Domaine à taille humaine, you will find large ski areas, as well as a free ski lift dedicated to beginners (called "Les Cabris"). Finally, the most adventurous sportsmen can try the experience of flying over the resort with a paraglider : a solo or a duo, paragliding will offer you unique views of the mountains throughout the year.
Summer ? The mountain is made for climbing, hiking, pedaling and relaxing while enjoying the calm and fresh air. As for cycling, the Maurienne is famous for its legendary passes : thanks to its vast mountain pastures, the resort and its massifs are perfect for mountain bike excursions. World capital of cyclo climbers, it welcomes every year many mountain bike enthusiasts, experienced in the difficult exercise of climbing mountain passes by bike. The Col du Galibier, the Col de la Madeleine, the Col de la Glandon, the Croix de Fer and the Col du Mollard also host some of the most famous cycling events, including the famous Tour de France. Young and old can enjoy outdoor tennis, table tennis, volleyball, petanque and family barbecues at the Bottières leisure area. As for hiking, many walks start from the Bottières station, such as the "Sentier de Découverte" (3 kilometres long), the "Trois Croix" (5 kilometres) or the Marmottes, 4 kilometres long. From the peaceful alp pastures where cows and sheep graze to the rocky and steep peaks, passing through the cool caves and high lakes, the mountain landscapes follow one another under the eyes of curious hikers without ever resembling each other. In neighbouring resorts such as La Toussuire and Le Corbier, you can enjoy swimming pools, spas, relaxation and wellness areas, horse or pony rides and mini-golf with views of the mountains.
