Neighbouring Bourg-Saint-Maurice and the famous resort of Les Arcs, Les Chapelles enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the Savoie mountains. Dominated by the Roignais, the Aiguille de la Nova, the Pointe de Presset but also the Pointe de la Terrasse, the Pierra Menta, the Roc de la Charbonnière and the Mont Coin, the village spreads out between 772 and 2964 metres in altitude in the heart of the valleys of the Haute Tarentaise. If it is worth the detour for its beautiful architecture, its legendary Dwarf Grotto, its old mine, its chapels and its preserved heritage, it is above all for its proximity to the star resort of Les Arcs that Les Chapelles has won the support of holidaymakers.

Hiking is certainly the most popular activity in the area; on the Les Arcs domain, more than 200 kilometres of marked trails will allow you to contemplate magnificent landscapes, from the still snow-covered peaks to the thick pine forests. We also recommend that you go to the lake of Roselend: dazzlingly beautiful thanks to the turquoise of its water, this hiking site is a must to see while passing through Les Chapelles.
