Méribel Mottaret is a ski resort located at 1750 m above sea level, dominated by the Mont-Vallon which watches over it from its 3000 meters of altitude. The village overlooks the valley of Méribel and gives access to some 600 Km of slopes of the 3 Valleys ski area. The village is also close to the snowpark accessible to all levels, from expert freestyler to amateur glider.

Created in 1972, the village is relatively recent, conferring a certain unity and practicality to the whole (the residences and chalets are often installed at the foot of the tracks). Modern facilities have been built over time, including an Olympic Park with a swimming pool, an ice rink, a fitness and relaxation area, a climbing wall and a bowling alley. An impression of modernity emerges from this destination without questioning the unspeakable charm of the two large neighborhoods, lined with fir trees, which compose it. On the one hand : Le Laitelet, which is the largest district of Méribel Mottaret, extends on the western slope of the mountain, between Méribel Center (1700 m) and the Hameau (1800 m). The whole neighborhood is served by the Chalets cable car all day. On the other hand : Le Châtelet, hanging on the eastern slope and enjoying exceptional sunshine.

Slightly below, you can see the Natural Reserve of the Plan of Tueda delimited by the lake of the same name and the glacier of Gréboulaz. It can be traversed through the refuge of Le Saut. No fewer than 93 species of invertebrates and a hundred vertebrates are listed. By being attentive to what surrounds us, we can notably observe many remarkable species like the black grouse, the knight and the hoopoe. Not to mention the inevitable chamois, ibex and other deer. It is an unforgettable journey in the heart of an incredibly preserved natural environment that offers Méribel Mottaret. For the more sporty : the bikepark is the best way to travel the territory in search of grandiose panoramas. A large number of circuits listed according to the difficulty allow everyone to discover the joys of mountain biking in nature. Descente, enduro or cross-country, it's up to you to choose according to your desires and your abilities !

On the ski slopes, the reputation of the Méribel domain is no longer to be done with its 150 kilometers of high quality pistes. The resort is known for hosting large international competitions, proving that its trails are among the best in the world. In 1992, Méribel received the women's alpine skiing events and all the ice hockey events at the Albertville Winter Olympic Games. The joy and excitement that gripped the village for the duration of the competition resumed in March 2015 when the resort was once again chosen to host the final events of the Alpine World Cup... Just that !

Closed lifts: snowshoes, snowshoes = there's plenty to do. Go to the Altiport for cross-country skiing : top. A snowmobile ride, noisy and polluting, certainly, but to be done once for the sensations!
