Explore Tignes Les Brévières
Perched 1550 meters in the heart of Savoie, the village of Tignes Les Brévières is one of the most authentic resorts of the estate of Tignes. Situated a little away from the estate, peacefulness reigns over its small traditional chalets. Surrounded by nature, it is a true return to the roots that awaits the numerous vacationers who come to stay there each year. Model of a modern tourist resort, the village of Brévières has its own ski lifts as well as several shops and restaurants in downtown.
Tignes is above all a world famous ski area. Its many trails extend over 150 kilometers and offer both beginner and advanced skiers the opportunity to enjoy all the joys of skiing. Connected to the domain of Val d'Isère, it is part of the Tignes-Val d'Isère, a large ski area with nearly 300 kilometers of pistes.
The slopes of Tignes have also seduced the professionals. In 1992, at the Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, the field welcomed the three freestyle events on its tracks. Many other official competitions took place there. The famous Winter X Games, freestyle snowboard competition, installed their European version in Tignes for three seasons, from 2010 to 2013.
The amateurs of thrills are spoiled for choice in Tignes ! We start with the Bun J Ride, springboard of about thirty meters which one skirts or snowboard to the feet. Attached by two giant elastics, one takes speed before flying in the air. Once stabilized, one descends in zip line to the firm ground. Chills guaranteed! Come and discover the resort and its surroundings from a new angle thanks to ULM flights. We fly over the snowy landscapes and approach the vertiginous summits in a safe baptism of air. An even greater sense of freedom seizes those who also try paragliding. For experienced skiers looking for even more intense sensations, speedriding is halfway between gliding and paragliding. We plunge the tracks with ease then we fly several meters before returning to earth. This unique discipline of new sliding can also be practiced on a snowboard once one has mastered the bases.
Want to relax after all his emotions ? Take a ride on snowshoes in the background of Savoyard nature. A peaceful silence, virgin territories of a majestic whiteness... The ideal break to get away from the hustle and bustle of the resort. In the evening, there is a good meal at La Sachette (in the Monts des Brévières) : the oldest restaurant in Tignes ! Indeed, since 1893, this cozy restaurant serves in a convivial atmosphere traditional dishes of the region. What better than a good raclette to finish the day ?
