Francilien looking for a change of scenery without having to travel hundreds of miles? Or, on the contrary, do you live in the region and want to sample the grandiose charms of Île-de-France? Pack your bags and head for Ocquerre, a charming little town in Seine-et-Marne.

It is on the banks of the Marne that the commune of Ocquerre was established, just a few kilometres from the border with the Oise. Just 20 minutes from Meaux, Ocquerre is ideally located for family holidays, as it is 40 kilometres from Disneyland Paris, 50 from Parc Astérix and 75 kilometres from the capital of Paris. Elegant city, full of charm, Ocquerre is worth a visit for its beautiful heritage, consisting mainly of very old stones. Its Saint-Etienne church in particular is worth a visit for its interesting architecture. Restored in the 17th century by none other than Nicolas Fourrault, the architect of the royal castle of Monceau-en-Brie, it attracts as much for its imposing architecture as for its decorations. Not far away, you will also discover the remains of the former priory founded in 1135 on the banks of the Ourcq, then the farm known as "aux trois cheminées", a former Renaissance-style hunting lodge. And how can you talk about Ocquerre without mentioning its famous Château de la Trousse? Built in the 17th century, then fallen into disuse during the French Revolution, it was remodelled many times, so that today, only the outbuildings and the moat remain of its original structure. Elegant, with its prison, its chapel and its dovecote, it is one of the must-sees of your visit.

While passing through Ocquerre, take the time to make a stopover in Meaux. With its beautiful terraces at the foot of the Saint-Etienne Cathedral, its Bossuet Garden, its elegant Parc du Pâtis, its beaches on the banks of the Marne and its crazy cachet, the episcopal city of Meaux is a must see. Take the time to sit down by the river in one of the restaurants in Meaux to introduce you to the delights of local gastronomy: beer, mustard and Brie de Meaux are on the menu of all the good restaurants!

For the whole family, the Disney and Parc Astérix amusement parks are only a few kilometres from Ocquerre. For the duration of a day, you can enjoy many sensational attractions, whether you're more of the "Team Mickey" or the "Team Obelix". In good weather or in fickle conditions, these parks, as adored by young and old alike, will make your stay in the Val-de-Marne even more enjoyable. And finally, how can you resist the idea of a stroll in Paris? From Lizy-sur-Ourcq station, you can reach Paris and its Gare de l'Est train station in just 46 minutes. Gastronomic restaurants, 100% Parisian brasseries, Chinese and Italian restaurants, but also theatres, cinemas, museums (Louvre, Orsay, Carnavalet, Branly, d'Art Moderne...), parks (Buttes-Chaumont, Montsouris, Monceau, Belleville, Bagatelle...), the Grands Boulevards, Montmartre and its painters, monuments such as the Sacré-Coeur, the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower are just waiting for you!
