40 kilometres north of Fréjus, and 30 kilometres north-east of Draguignan, the small village of Seillans is on the popular list of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France". Housed in a lush green setting in the heart of the Pays de Fayence, Seillans promises its lucky visitors an enchanting interlude to the traditions of Provence.

A perched village in the Pays de Fayence, Seillans has all the characteristics of typical villages in Provence. As you enter the village, its immeasurable charm will jump out at you. With its terraced houses, Seillans is a maze of tortuous, flowered and cobbled streets, which still today bear admirable witness to its medieval past. Between vaulted passages and cobbled streets, houses with tiled roofs and shaded squares adorned with poetic lapping fountains, you'll fall in love immediately. Its influences, from the Celto-ligures to the French Revolution, can be seen through its elegant and refined ochre-coloured buildings: From the 12th century Chapel of Notre-Dame de l'Ormeau to its large 12th century Saracen Gate, via its magnificent feudal castle, the rue de la Boucherie, the rue du Valat, its 11th century church and the remains of its former fortified enclosure, this is no small classical stroll that awaits you here, but a real plunge into History, with a "big H". Inspired and inspiring, Seillans has in many ways given new life to artists in search of inspiration or rest, so many craftsmen have chosen to make Seillans their home, like the surrealist painter Max Ernst who lived in Seillans during the last 10 years of his life. There are also many workshops and potters that you can find in the village, potteries that today make its reputation beyond the Pays de Fayence.

After a well-deserved break on the Place du Thouron (in the heart of the medieval centre) to enjoy the AOC wines of Provence, cheeses and its olive oil (celebrated here every year in November), take the time to put on your trainers before setting off to discover the hiking trails that dot Seillans and the Pays de Fayence. If the Vallon du Rayol is to be seen, don't miss the Col de Saint-Arnoux which, in addition to making cyclists happy, will offer you superb panoramas of the vegetation of Provence from its 655 metres high. In addition to hiking and mountain biking, horse riding, canyoning, caving, golf and parachute jumping will complete your discovery of the Pays de Fayence. And if you feel like swimming, the lake of Saint-Cassien (less than thirty kilometres away) will be a good option for bubbling in the sun, unless you prefer to take a break on the Mediterranean coast. Swimming in Fréjus or Mandelieu-la-Napoule (35 kilometres away), sunbathing, but also jet-skiing, catamaran, sea outings, scuba diving, first flight in a microlight and other sporting activities will be on the programme for your stay in Seillans!
