Rich of a very old past as its old ramparts still testify, Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne is known in the region as the cradle of the Félibrige, the movement of renewal of the Provençal language created by Frédéric Mistral in 1854. A land of tradition nestled in the heart of the Vaucluse, this village is as authentic as you could wish for and reveals new wonders at every corner. Protected by the remains of its feudal castle, considered by some as one of the most beautiful in the whole province, this marvelous castle was plundered before being destroyed during the Revolution, but you will be able to guess its outlines in particular by going to its belvedere in front of the church, a spot which will allow you to discover from the heights of the village the drawing of its ramparts, but also to see the Castle of Thouzon, the argon quarries or the famous and emblematic Mont Ventoux. Take the time to walk down the maze of alleys and cobbled streets that tell the story of Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne, and the beautifully renovated old houses that make this village a postcard setting. The old and wide fortified gates, the fountains, the Château de Fontségugne, the wisteria adorned squares, the village's Romanesque church and the Blanchefleur mill.
