Looking for a holiday in the mountains in a preserved setting, where authenticity and modern infrastructures combine perfectly ? Head for La Bresse, a picturesque mountain village located in the Hautes-Vosges, just a few kilometres from the German border. Right in the heart of the Parc Naturel des Ballons des Vosges, in the middle of the lakes and forests of Lorraine, the resort of La Bresse-Hohneck allows ski lovers, whether beginners or advanced, to enjoy the joys of skiing on gentle slopes, with family or friends.

The largest ski area in northern France, La Bresse-Hohneck is distinguished by its 42 slopes spread over more than 220 hectares, through lakes and forests. Located between 900 and 1350 metres above sea level facing the highest peak of the Vosges (the Hohneck, at 1363 metres above sea level), the resort of La Bresse is a delight for many holidaymakers every year. Divided into two parts, "La Bresse Lispach" and "La Bresse Brabant", this resort offers a great diversity of atmospheres : if the first resort is more dedicated to learning the pleasures of skiing, the second will delight more experienced skiers and snowkite lovers in particular. Thanks to its vast space, La Bresse allows the practice of multiple sporting activities: in winter, if alpine skiing and cross-country skiing are kings, know that you will also be able to make snowboarding, walks in snowshoes, biathlon, luge, snowtubing (luge on a round buoy), dog sledding or ice skating... You will not know where to start ! Undeniably family resort, the resort of La Bresse has many assets intended to fill parents and children during this stay : thus, nurseries and snow gardens were arranged just at the foot of the slopes, to accommodate the smallest when the biggest are busy skiing down the slopes. Once the beautiful days arrive, when the mountain leaves its thick snow cover, it gives way to green valleys, crossed by hiking and cycle paths : the Massif des Vosges is indeed famous for its generous balloons, its lakes and its woods, perfect for invigorating walks. Thus, many marked out circuits furrow La Bresse and the surrounding villages, as the circuit "Les Ballons de La Bresse" in particular, long of nearly 12 kilometers, which will lead you through Les Roches Beuty, Moutier des Fées, Basse des Feignes and Truche, summit from which you will have superb points of view on the passes, peat bogs and valleys of La Bresse. By bike, the "Des hauts et des lacs" mountain bike trail will delight experienced cyclists : during this 50 kilometre excursion, you will discover the region's various lakes, from Lake Blanchemer (named after the reflection of snow in its winter waters), to the sumptuous Lac des Corbeaux, passing by Lake de la Lande and Lake Lispach, perched 900 metres above sea level. In addition to family walks, you can also climb, challenge the modules of the Bikepark, go "Schlitte Mountain" (tobogganing on rails through the mountains) or fish in the streams and lake Ténine. Fans of thrills will be able to go tyrolean, bungee jumping or paragliding to discover impressive panoramas of the magnificent valleys of La Bresse from the air.

Whether you are a skier or not, you will certainly fall under the charm of the heart of La Bresse. Its sports complex with swimming pool, fitness area, sauna and hammam will be perfect for relaxing moments.

Finally, you will be amazed by the rich gastronomic heritage of La Bresse and its region. On the menu : sauerkraut, hams, cold meats, generous pies, quiches, terrines, Bäckeoffe, tofôlles (or tofailles), flammenkuche or local wines and cheeses such as munster... Enough to satisfy the gourmands !
