Spread out between 482 and 893 metres above sea level, Le Tholy is located in the heart of the Vosges mountains, just ten kilometres from the lake and the Gérardmer ski slopes. Particularly conducive to escape, its soothing environment is a tireless invitation to discover. And whether you are sporty or not, winter or summer, you will necessarily find your happiness there! In winter, ski lovers can take advantage of the proximity of the Gérardmer - La Mauselaine resort to (re)discover the pleasures of skiing with the whole family. A very family resort, this alpine resort has many infrastructures adapted to all levels of practice: with its 21 slopes (3 blue, 8 green, 8 red and 2 black) spread out between 770 and 1140 metres above sea level, its snow parks and its recreational areas, it is very popular with holidaymakers in search of sensations. Fans of northern activities? The site of Les Bas-Rupts - Gérardmer will satisfy all your desires! It has 30 kilometres of alternative or skating trails in the middle of the high fir trees of the Vosges forest, and is connected to the large domain of La Bresse - Xonrupt, offering you a total of more than 100 kilometres of trails for all levels and all desires. In addition to skiing, you will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities, from luge to biathlon, ski jumping, ice skating and snowshoeing (4 uncompleted circuits of 2, 4, 6 and 9 kilometres).

During the summer, Le Tholy becomes a paradise for "nature" activities. To discover all the facets of it, there is nothing better than to opt for a hike! There are many routes that criss-cross the village and its surroundings. The circuit of the Grande Cascade from the Col de Bonnefontaine, the circuit of the Cellet, the magnificent (and rather sporty) path of the Grandes Roches famous for its wonderful panoramas on the valley of Cleurie, but also the path of the Badger, the circuit of the Pissoire, that of Bouvacôte, the Pierre du Chaud Costet, the Trou de l'Enfer and the Roches de la Moulure are particularly recommended for a discovery of the most beautiful natural sites of Tholy. Lakes, ponds, forests, waterfalls, you will see how nature is preserved here, and amazingly beautiful! The mountains of the Grand Est region are also ideal for mountain biking; also, Le Tholy has a whole network of cycle routes, such as the Roches de la Moulure circuit (27 kilometres), the Infays circuit (14 kilometres) or the Saucéfaing - Le Cellet loop (20 kilometres). It is impossible to stay at Le Tholy without taking the opportunity to discover some of the most beautiful sites in the Vosges, such as Lake Gerardmer, Lake Longemer, the Tendon waterfalls, Lake Lispach and Lake Les Corbeaux, which are absolutely magnificent at dawn.

Finally, a stay in the Vosges would not be complete without a visit to one of its small traditional restaurants. On the menu? Munster ("of course", the Munster valley is only a few steps away), sweets from the Vosges, local honey, delicatessen, goats, tome of the Vosges, brandy, Munster cream with Gewurztraminer, Vosges salad, tofaille, "vosgiflette", andouille from the Val d'Ajol, trout pâté from the abbesses, Vosges grated...
