How can we talk about Greece without mentioning its capital: Athens? The heart of ancient Greece, the cradle of civilizations, the city is full of mythical monuments, built in the 5th century B.C.: listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Acropolis citadel erected on top of a hill dominates the city. The Parthenon, the Erechtheion and the temple of Athena are among the most visited monuments in the world. Discover its museums, but also its lively neighborhoods and its traditional restaurants! Taste the flavors of the local cuisine, from tzatziki to Greek salad, stuffed vine leaves, moussaka, feta, fasolada or gyros, the famous Greek sandwich, perfect for picnics during your excursions.

Beyond its typical cuisine, Greece is also known for its postcard-perfect islands. Start with Corfu, a true Greek gem: off the northwest coast, facing the Ionian Sea, this island owes its popularity to its many seaside resorts, nestled between its rugged mountains. Considered one of the most beautiful islands in the country, its fields of wild flowers and olive trees give it a very special atmosphere. Take time to wander through the winding streets of Corfu's medieval old town, and admire its varied architecture, from Venetian to French and Italian. Further south, stroll along the Achilleion Palace, built in the 19th century. From its terraced gardens, you will have a breathtaking view of the city and the surrounding villages. Finally, take a walk along the coastline: sandy beaches, wild coves and beautiful caves are waiting for you! Families in search of tranquility will appreciate the beautiful bay of Agio Georgios: its shallow waters and beautiful sandy beaches are perfect for relaxing and swimming. Party lovers will go to Kavos, a beautiful coastal town located in the extreme south of Corfu. During the day, water sports, paragliding and jet-skiing are the order of the day, but at night, the main street comes alive and becomes a nightclubbers' paradise with its bars and numerous nightclubs.

In the south of the country, make a stopover in one of the most beautiful islands in the world: Crete! The region of Chania, also known as "Chania", is full of small fortified villages, where Turkish and Venetian architecture intermingle. Its pristine white beaches, charming Venetian ports and unspoiled natural sites are worth a visit. In the center of the island, in the White Mountains, the Samaria Gorge is home to an extremely rich fauna and flora that the most athletic vacationers can discover thanks to multiple trekking paths.

Finally, don't leave without discovering the breathtaking beauty of the Cyclades: from festive Mykonos to Santorini and Paros, blue domed churches mingle with bright white houses reflecting the sunlight, facing the turquoise sea. The golden beaches of these Greek islands are true paradise, that photographers will not fail to immortalize, by a sunset with shimmering colors.
