Known for its beaches among the most beautiful in the whole Algavre, Vilamoura brilliantly combines charm and elegance. Renowned for its dynamism, but also for its festive and rather "select" side, Vilamoura never ceases to delight visitors passing through its walls.

Nicknamed by some the "Monaco of the Algavre", Vilamoura is one of the star resorts of the Portuguese coast. Over the years, its large and dynamic marina, dream beaches and numerous infrastructures have made it one of the best destinations to see in the southern part of the country. Modern and chic, far from the small Portuguese towns where nature and wild panoramas are legion, this resort built in the 80s has 5 exceptional golf courses with sea view, among which the "Old Course", which attracts the golf elite from all over the world, especially on the occasion of the "Portugal Masters". Take the time to stroll along the quays of its marina (the largest in the country with almost 1300 berths) to admire the impressive yachts moored there, before pushing the door of one of its gourmet restaurants facing the sea for a gourmet break with a view. At night, the trendy bars that line the port come alive, the calm and elegance of the day giving way to theme evenings and other nightclub fiestas, which are very popular with night owls in the summer. Glamorous and adored by gamblers, the casino of Vilamoura is one of the most popular places for holidaymakers: with its huge auditoriums, its theme evenings, its more than 500 machines, its numerous gaming rooms and tables, it is a must to do while passing through Vilamoura.

If the city itself is, let's say it, made of recent buildings, it is nevertheless pleasant to visit, on foot or by bike. But Vilamoura has something surprising, because in the middle of all these modern constructions, are the ruins of an ancient Roman city. The Cerro da Vila, as it is called, was in Roman times very popular because of its geographical location, close to both the sea and the Spanish border. The ruins of the Cerro da Vila can be seen here, as well as the museum of the same name located near the road leading to the Praia da Falésia.

Miles and miles of golden sand bordered by red rocks and turquoise water: this is also what awaits you in Vilamoura. Known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole country, Vilamoura's beaches are a heartbreaker. Perfect to bubble under the sun, they will suit all your desires, whether you are a "team farniente" or rather a lover of nautical activities. The Praia de Vilamoura also known as Praia da Marina is very lively. A party theatre during the summer, it will delight water sports enthusiasts who will be able to practice a whole range of activities. On the programme? Water skiing, wakeboarding, parasailing, boat trips with a DJ, kayaking to discover the creeks and other hidden caves in the area, paddle, jet ski, jet boat, horse riding and segway on the beach, dolphin watching, scuba diving, surfing, sailboat trips... We told you: something for the whole family. The Praia de Quarteira is worth a visit, as is the wonderful Praia da Falésia. With its breathtaking red rock cliffs, it is worth seeing a-bso-lu-ment!
