From the beaches, it only takes a few minutes walk to reach the medieval city of Calonge. Admire its old houses, its Calcùl street, its vineyards and cellars as well as its church Sant Marti and its medieval castle. Its fortress built in the eighth century is one of the largest in the province of Girona, and deserves a look : linger in the gardens of the castle, and along its medieval ramparts for a little freshness. Dynamic, Sant Antoni de Calonge has set up a programme called "Estia Actiu" (active summer) : gymnastics and open-air cinema sessions, sand castle competitions and fun walks are organised throughout the summer, allowing visitors to discover all the secrets of the city and its coastline.
