Occupied by the Carthaginians, the Romans, the Almoravids and finally by the Spaniards, Mallorca has a rich historical heritage. In particular, you can admire the Almudaina Palace, an ancient Muslim castle built between the 11th and 13th centuries, and just opposite the magnificent Gothic cathedral built in the 14th century.
