Take the time to stroll through the old part of the village, dotted with tall white houses in front of which are huge flowerbeds, each one more colourful and vibrant than the next. You will also see the Convent Caves, the Bread Museum and the remains of the old Arab wall, the Arco del Cobertizo, which belonged to the defensive walls that once surrounded the town. It is impossible not to pass by the old hermitage of La Vera Cruz: in neo-Gothic style, this rather astonishing building impresses visitors with its exterior architecture. Built during the 20th century, it is a must to see during your visit, as is the famous Paca Mill: an essential part of local history, this site, which is over a century old, will show you all the tricks of the trade in traditional oil production.

Set on a hill in the Sierra de Mijas, in the heart of abundant orchards, Alhaurin el Grande is also known for its absolutely splendid views of the surrounding nature. After taking time to relax in the Parque de la Libertad, the Lagartijo Park or the Jorobado Park, head towards the Mirador Huerto Mateo. From this viewpoint, a breathtaking panorama of the Guadalhorce valley and its green fields awaits you.
