Between Malaga and Marbella, in the south of Spain, the seaside resort of Fuengirola is one of the most popular destinations on the Andalusian coast. Don't forget your glasses and sunscreen: idleness and "sunbathing" breaks in perspective!

On the Costa del Sol, bathed in the warm waters of the Alboran Sea, Fuengirola offers 8 kilometres of sunny beaches (the largest seaside in the whole province of Malaga). Fuengirola surprises its visitors with its important heritage: the municipality has a rich history dating back to Roman times, as evidenced by the presence of archaeological remains of a statue of Venus in particular, found on its territory. A visit to do: that of the Castillo de Sohail. Perched at the mouth of the Fuengirola River, this castle nestled on its hill tops 38 metres high facing the beaches of the Costa del Sol and the valleys of the Sierra de Mijas. It has been remodelled many times over the centuries and now houses a museum that we recommend you visit in order to learn everything about the history of this city of character. The Roman enclave of the Finca del Secretario Park completes the local heritage: with its salting plant, pottery workshop and thermal baths dating from the 1st to the 5th century, they bear witness to the development of life in Fuengirola for many centuries.

Take the time to stroll through the "Los Boliches" district to discover the traditional houses of the Andalusian country, but also in its typical urban centre, articulated around the Church of the Rosary and the Plaza de la Constitucion. The Promenade Maritime offers a pleasant path along the 8 kilometres of Fuengirola coast: on foot, by bike or by rollerblade, this lively walk at any time of the day or night is one of the most popular in the resort, ideal for enjoying the seaside and its dynamism.

The beaches of Fuengirola are its main asset: labelled blue flag for their magnificent setting and the quality of their bathing water, these family beaches, although very often taken over by visitors, are long and will allow you to find a small quiet place to plant your parasol. Water sports enthusiasts? Many activities are offered for all levels and all desires on the sand of the resort's beaches. Windsurfing, surfing, jet-skiing, pedal boat, water skiing... Unless you prefer swimming or relaxing in the sun! Fuengirola also has several parks and gardens, theme parks such as the Fuengirola Biopark (a zoological park where canoeing and rafting are also practiced), the Dolphin Watersport and Adventure Golf, all places where you can go with your family and friends during your stay.
