The sun, the sea, the superb beaches, a welcoming nature and pretty districts in which to stroll : Marbella has all the assets to be an ideal place of holiday. Marbella, the flagship destination on the Costa del Sol, is a bit like the Spanish Saint Tropez. An ancient village very typical of Andalusia, Marbella has kept all its charm despite its "jet-set" side. The whitewashed houses, fruit trees, small squares and charming streets with red and pink flowers of old Marbella make it a place not to be missed. Stop for a few moments in the famous Place des Orangers (Plaza de los Naranjos), and sit in one of its cafés in the shade of orange trees, facing a pretty stone fountain. Walk through its maze of narrow streets, along its ancient ramparts and stop in front of the Encarnacion church and then at the Spanish Engraving Museum, established in a former 16th century hospital. As in many Spanish cities, the religious tradition is very present in Marbella : thus, you will surely pass in front of the emblematic Virgin of the Douleurs, who, nestled on her balcony with blue shutters, watches visitors pass. A little farther from downtown, walk to the Marbella Mosque : this beautiful, pristine white building is close to King Fahd's beautiful residence, a true copy of the White House.

On the sea side, Marbella is a paradise for lovers of beautiful beaches, and rightly so, since it has no less than 23 beaches, stretching along its 27 kilometres of coastline. At the entrance of Marbella, meet on the beach of Rio Real. 400 metres long, it is dotted with pretty palm trees, parasols and deckchairs for perfect moments of relaxation, with family or friends. Young and old alike can enjoy some of the many water sports available in the region, such as jet-skiing or towed buoys. Rio Real also runs alongside one of Marbella's most popular golf courses.

Located 5 minutes from the Playa de Rio Real, Bounty Beach is certainly one of the most pleasant beaches on the Costa del Sol, much appreciated by young people : ambient music, relaxation and a relaxed atmosphere are there, in the shade of coconut trees and banana trees. Favourite beach for holidaymakers, 10 kilometres from Marbella's city centre, Playa de Alicante is also one of the most beautiful on the coast. Less frequented than its neighbours, (although it seems that the famous actor Antonio Banderas makes a few fathoms there from time to time), it is lined with pines and has small parasols upright in front of a transparent water, which give it a dream beach.

Marbella is a sporting city with many facilities for holidaymakers to enjoy various outdoor activities : cycling along the seafront, water sports such as sailing, diving, surfing, snorkelling, but also hiking, karting or parachuting you won't get bored in Marbella !

Finally, let yourself be tempted by a dinner on the beach, facing the orange colors of the setting sun. From the most relaxed to the most luxurious, restaurants and bars line the waterfront. You will be able to savour typical dishes of the region : crack for a copious tortilla of patatas, a paella flavor, a refreshing gazpacho and some gourmet tapas, savoured at the slow rhythm of the murmur of the waves of the Mediterranean.
