Formerly known as "Tarraco" by the Romans, it rapidly became the capital of the "Tarraconese" region, a gigantic Roman province that covered most of the Iberian peninsula at the time. Today, the archaeological site of Tárraco exposes the vestiges of this commercial and administrative city of great scale. Registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2000, you will find on this site the wonders of ancient and medieval architecture. Roman theater, Visigoth basilica, Scipio tower, Roman walls...
