30 minutes from Troyes and 1h15 from Paris, Romilly-sur-Seine is a "city in the country", located near the greater Paris area. Just northwest of the Aube, and a few steps from the Marne, Romilly-sur-Seine is the second largest city in the department. In the past, the town used to have a lot of castles, but these have been dismantled to reveal a charming industrial heritage which is now the originality of the town. Also, you will discover many bourgeois houses which belonged to the owners of the hosiery industry, or the factories of the XIXth century which made the success of Romilly-sur-Seine. You can discover the history of this past by visiting the Musée de la Bonneterie, which will tell you the story of the cachou sock once made in the Jacquemard factories. The Saint-Martin church is worth a visit for its magnificent stained glass windows, as well as Avenue Jean-Jaurès, which houses the Romilly tank, the first tank of General Leclerc's 2nd armored division to enter Paris during its liberation in August 1944.

As far as nature is concerned, Romillons and visitors alike like to take the time to lose themselves in the Parc de la Béchère: the green lung of the city center, once the park of a vast castle that has now disappeared, it amazes young and old alike with its arboretum, its children's garden, its health course, its horse-riding circle, its hiking trails and its educational farm.
