Between the Côte Fleurie, the Côte de Nacre and the Côte du Bessin, Calvados offers you a thousand and one ways to enjoy the sea. You can choose one of the mythical coastal resorts, such as Deauville, Trouville, Cabourg, Houlgate, Honfleur, or a small fishing port bordered by high cliffs. In terms of activities, you will also have the choice of sailing, surfing, kitesurfing, paddling, kayaking, water-walking, diving... Unless you prefer to place your stay under the sign of well-being by taking advantage of the benefits of thalassotherapy, in one of the four centres of the department.
A land with a rich past, Calvados also invites you to explore some famous pages of history. For example, follow in the footsteps of William the Conqueror: in Falaise, to see the castle where he grew up; in Caen, to admire the fabulous buildings he had built: the ducal castle, the Ladies' Abbey, the Men's Abbey; in Bayeux, to appreciate the 11th century tapestry which recounts his conquest of England.
