Between the Côte Fleurie, the Côte de Nacre and the Côte du Bessin, Calvados offers you a thousand and one ways to enjoy the sea. You can choose one of the mythical coastal resorts, such as Deauville, Trouville, Cabourg, Houlgate, Honfleur, or a small fishing port bordered by high cliffs. In terms of activities, you will also have the choice of sailing, surfing, kitesurfing, paddling, kayaking, water-walking, diving... A land with a rich past, Calvados also invites you to explore some famous pages of history. For example, follow in the footsteps of William the Conqueror: in Falaise, to see the castle where he grew up; in Caen, to admire the fabulous buildings he had built: the ducal castle, the Ladies' Abbey, the Men's Abbey; in Bayeux, to appreciate the 11th century tapestry which recounts his conquest of England. Then take a leap of faith and discover the landing beaches (Omaha, Utah, Juno, Sword and Gold) and the many sites that recall the Battle of Normandy: the Caen Memorial, the Arromanches Landing Museum, the Pegasus Memorial...
But also take advantage of your stay in Calvados to discover the richness of its natural environment. On the way, take the time to visit Beuvron-sur-Auge, one of the most beautiful villages in France, and the many parks and gardens of the department: those of the castles of Vendeuvre, Canon, Bouttemont, Brécy...
