Adjacent to Montélimar, the small village of Montboucher-sur-Jabron flourishes in the Drôme department. Just a few steps from the Ardèche, this perfect destination for a holiday far from the crowds is a peaceful place to spend days east of the Rhone, which meanders along the border between the two departments. Rich in ancient history, the commune of Montboucher-sur-Jabron takes its name from the Gallo-Roman "mons boucherious" which means "the wooded mountain"... And that's to say that the village bears its name well, since it is set in a green setting perfect for filling up with fresh air. A Drôme village full of charm, it is watered by the Jabron river which invites you to stroll along its landscaped banks. To start your stay, nothing better than opting for a short visit of the village, full of sites to discover. The Château-village to begin with, is worth the detour: destroyed in 1789 before being restored, it retains two truncated towers, as well as the remains of its walls flanked by round towers that you can discover at your leisure. On the list of things to visit, the pseudo-Romanesque church of the 19th century, without forgetting the inevitable medieval fortified house Le Monard, and the old tower, topped by a belfry which dominates the town will undoubtedly be a place of choice for those who love history and old stones.

A small paradise for nature lovers, the commune of Montboucher-sur-Jabron will delight hiking and photography enthusiasts with its landscapes and trails. Around the old castel, you will find several routes that will allow you to discover the richness of the local fauna and flora, itineraries that will plunge you into the heart of nature and give you beautiful quiet breaks away from the hustle and bustle. On foot, by car or by bike, it will be easy for you to get to Montélimar. Rich for its culture and gourmet gastronomy, this charming city conceals many treasures within its walls. To see?
