How good it is to stroll through the old pedestrian districts of Montélimar to the sound of its beautiful fountains and pleasant squares. At the bend of its most beautiful alleys, you will cross the road of the House of Diana of Poitiers of Renaissance style, that of the Hotels of Chabrillan and Puy Montbrun of the XVIIIe and XVIIe centuries, the collegiate church Sainte-Croix or the Saint-Martin gate, vestige of the ramparts of the city. Its charming Provençal alleys planted with plane trees where the regulars settle in terrace are the ideal place for a coffee break or to have lunch in the shade. As for culture, Montélimar has some beautiful museums not to be missed during your stay, such as the Musée d'Art Contemporain Saint-Martin, the Musée de la Miniature nestling in an old chapel, and the Palais des Bonbons et du Nougat, a space totally dedicated to the world of toys, santons and the famous nougat of Montélimar. Local delicacies par excellence, nougat is one of the 13 traditional Provençal Christmas desserts, and you can taste it at one of the 12 nougat shops in Montélimar.

Established on the promontories of Narbonne and Géry, facing the Rhone Valley, Montélimar is the starting point of many hiking routes. At the confluence of the Jabron and Roubion rivers, Montélimar is also watered by the Rhône and will allow you to stroll along the cool streams. The path along the Jabron to the Golf de la Valdaine is particularly worth doing to enjoy beautiful landscapes on the local hills. There are also many paths through the tortuous reliefs of the Regional Natural Park of the Baronnies Provençales and around Montélimar through its lavender fields towards the wonderful small medieval perched villages of the Drôme Provençale that are Poët-Laval, Puygiron, Chaudebonne, Valaurie, Montségur-sur-Lauzon, Visan, Condorcet or Venterol. By bike, you can take the ViaRhôna, a route linking the Swiss Alps to the Mediterranean and passing through Montélimar. In a few pedal strokes, you can reach some of the most beautiful sites in the region such as Pont-Saint-Esprit, Orange, Avignon, but also Privas, Valence, Lyon and Geneva.
