Do you dream of a holiday in the sun, on the shores of fine sandy beaches? Do you like culture, water sports and hiking? So don't wait any longer, take to the open sea towards Loctudy!

A seaside town in southern Finistère, Loctudy (or "Loktudi" in Breton) is well known to fine gourmets thanks to its "Demoiselles", its famous langoustines, pink gold from the Bigouden region and Cornwall. The municipality has two ports: one for yachting with a capacity of 600 places, while the second is a 14th century fishing port, the fifth largest in France. In addition to the langoustines, here you can fish for skates, monkfish, cod or even haddock; do not hesitate to take a walk on the quays to watch the sailors return from fishing at around 5pm, a typical scene of life that is part of the daily life of the Loctudists.

The town has a strong architectural heritage: its 11th century Romanesque church, its Porz Bihan chapel, those of Saint-Quido, Notre-Dame des Croix, Saint-Oual and the Porte-Ouverte chapel will mark your visits to Loctudy. Don't forget to visit the Kérazan Manor House! Dating from the 16th century, this magnificently preserved castle is surrounded by a large English-style park where you will love to walk. Its centuries-old trees, its Breton art museum, its Quimper earthenware, its vegetable gardens, its laundry and its greenhouse make it a pleasant place to discover with the whole family.

What is the most beautiful postcard of Loctudy? Without hesitation: its magnificent black and white checkered lighthouse. Located at the entrance to its fishing port, the one known as "la perdrix" or "la Tourelle des Perdrix" dominates the width of its 18 meters high. On land, Loctudy has a second lighthouse, that of Langoz: located on the beach of the same name, it marks the entrance to the estuary of the Pont-l'Abbé river, and is painted white and red.

Whether you are on foot, by bike, by motorcycle or by horse... How can you not fall in love with this authentic city? The many walking routes that criss-cross the town will allow you to discover its smallest secrets. The GR 34 in particular, winds for nearly 8 kilometres from Loctudy to Pont-l'Abbé along the river: a perfect walk to observe the ibises, herons and egrets that live in the heart of the Bigouden coast, but also to contemplate the different islands of the estuary, such as Garo Island and its houses, Queffen Island, Chevalier Island and Rat Island. Walk from the Menhir of Penglaouic to the Pointe de Saint-Oual, without forgetting the Pointe de Kerafédé, Beg Guen, Pointe de Kergall and Port de Larvor. At the end of the day? Impregnable panoramas over the Bay of Bénodet, the Glénans Islands offshore and Concarneau.

On the beach side, Loctudy has nothing to be ashamed of and reveals to its visitors nearly 8 kilometres of fine sand. Langoz, Kervilzic, Lodonnet and Ezer, Poulluen or Les Sables Blancs beaches will be perfect cocoons for your favourite activities. The latter is the most beautiful of the resort: almost 800 metres long, this wild beach is the perfect place to take a break under the Breton sun. Finally, Langoz beach has all the assets to seduce water sports enthusiasts: catamarans, windsurfing, water gym, optimist, surfing, boat trips, paddle... Something to satisfy all your desires!
