Pleuven is located in the Finistère department, 5 kilometres from the beaches of the Atlantic coast. A green and rural commune, ideally situated, Pleuven is only 13 kilometres from Quimper, the capital of historic Cornouaille. With a rich history dating back to the Neolithic period, as evidenced by the presence of a dolmen on its territory, Pleuven tells its story through its old stones. Like Brittany, the town has a great religious heritage that you will have the opportunity to discover during your stay: the church of Saint-Mathurin from 1876, which is worth a look for its impressive nave, but also the chapel of Saint-Thomas in the heart of the vegetation, the chapel of Saint-Tudy from the 16th century, and many others will give you a good overview of the religious architecture of the region. In addition to these buildings, there are a whole bunch of absolutely magnificent granite houses: solid, squat but terribly elegant houses that give a very special charm to the village, like the manor of Créac'hquéta, or the old town hall. In the park of the town hall, you can also observe an impressive pedunculate oak, a colossus labelled "remarkable tree", which would seem to be more than 700 years old!
