A jewel of the Arcachon basin, between Biscarrosse and Arcachon, La Teste-de-Buch is one of the most popular destinations on the Atlantic coast, as well as one of the largest cities in France. As for swimming in the sea, you will have to go to the famous Dune du Pilat (located in the seaside resort of Pyla-sur-Mer, which belongs to La Teste-de-Buch). Ranked since 1994, this highest dune in Europe impresses by its size as well as by the breathtaking panorama it offers from its summit (106 metres above sea level) over the entire Arcachon Basin, the Banc d'Arguin, Cap Ferret and the surrounding forests. Many activities are organised on the Grand Site of the Dune du Pilat all year round, from guided walks at sunset to workshops, including children's workshops and sports outings.
