Looking for nature? For adventure, authenticity and gourmet breaks? What if you packed your bags for the Arcachon Basin? And more particularly, for the commune of Lanton, a paradise of tranquillity where a gentle way of life and green escapades are the order of the day.

On the northern shore of the Bay of Arcachon, in the heart of the Pays de Buch, Lanton is located in the Gironde department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Composed of 4 villages that are Blagon, the highest point of the town, Cassy bordered by the Berle du Renêt, Taussat-les-Bains and Lanton, the town is adjacent to Andernos-les-Bains and Audenge, just opposite the Bird Island. Less than an hour from Bordeaux, right in the heart of an immense forest, the seaside resort of Lanton is a real gem, adored for its elegant setting, its rich cultural heritage and its exotic landscapes. A calm, tranquil destination, far from the big star seaside resorts of the basin, Lanton is a constant invitation to rest and relax along its magnificent beaches. Our advice? Take the time to walk along the seafront of Lanton, along the coastal path, which will allow you to contemplate incredible panoramas of the Arcachon basin and to discover the three ports of the city which are the port of Cassy, the Old Port of Taussat and the port of Fontainevieille. In the oyster port of Cassy, the restaurants, the fish market and the harbour master's office provide entertainment throughout the year, making this port a lively place to dine on seafood with a view, and to go for quiet canoe trips. More discreet, the port of Taussat-les-Bains is more authentic, and as you continue your stroll through the commune you will be able to contemplate the magnificent and majestic seaside villas on the edge of the basin: a haven for artists and celebrities, the commune of Lanton is home to a whole host of magnificent residences, both opulent and elegant, such as the Villa Tosca, the Villa Bagatelle or the Castel Landou residence, which overlooks the basin.

After having taken the time to visit the Gardarem eco-museum, which will plunge you into the heart of the traditions and customs of the Bay of Arcachon, take the time to stroll around the Certes estate. A former fish farm and ornithological centre, with its castle on the edge of the basin and its many events throughout the year, it is a must if you like music, theatre, literary walks or ornithology. Finally, we recommend you to take the Vélodyssée which crosses the town in order not to miss anything of Lanton, the neighbouring villages and the banks of the Bassin d'Arcachon! The pedestrian and cycling routes of the town will lead you tirelessly towards its beaches, and you will certainly appreciate the Suzette beach, located near the hamlet of Cassy: rather intimate, unknown to the public, this small quiet beach allows swimming at high tide, like all the beaches of the basin. Lazing around, water sports, sea walks and fishing will make your holidays on the Bay of Arcachon unforgettable!
