Taking its name from the blue-black color of the volcanic rocks that line its coast, Pointe-Noire is located in the overseas department of Guadeloupe. On the west coast of Basse-Terre, called the Côte-sous-le-Vent, this town of just under 60 square kilometers is bounded on the east by steep ridges, on the south by the Colas River and its neighbor Bouillante, and on the north by the Petite Anse ravine. Bathed in a tropical climate, Pointe-Noire has many hamlets that you will have the opportunity to discover during your stay under the sun. Volcanic city, Pointe-Noire is full of absolutely wonderful sites to discover, places that will tell you the history of Guadeloupe and allow you to discover its treasures. Inheriting a long agricultural and forestry tradition, the town is known for the cultivation of coffee; so, don't miss to discover the Beauséjour coffee plantation, the Maison du Cacao and its eco-museum dedicated to the culture of cocoa production, or the Casa Vanille which will give you the secrets of this pod so prized by gourmets.

Our advice ? Take the time to walk around the town hall of Pointe-Noire, and its square framed by Creole huts, works of the architect Ali Tur. The Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church is worth seeing, as well as the Maison du Bois, the Musée du Coquillage, and don't forget to discover Pointe-Noire's natural side! The National Park of Guadeloupe is a real treasure: walk through the orchid park, the Mamelles park which will delight hikers, as well as the Morne à Louis and the forest which covers a large part of the city. Not to be missed? The Caillou River, the Acomat waterfall on the Grande Plaine River, perfect for swimming, as well as the Petite Anse and the Plage Caraïbe! A beach of pebbles and black sand, it is a paradise for diving and snorkeling enthusiasts. You will find cabins where you can shelter and picnic, as well as beautiful water where you can swim!
