Located facing 17 kilometres of magnificent beaches, Cervione (or Cervioni) is located on the Costa Verde in Corsica, only 50 kilometres south of Bastia. Hanging at an altitude of 400 metres on the last slopes of Monte Castellu, this commune between the sea and the mountains will delight holidaymakers seeking adventure and rest in a resolutely paradisiacal setting.
Famous for its many hiking trails, Cervione, the former capital of the Isle of Beauty, is a favourite destination for hiking enthusiasts. Authentic and preserved, the Costa Verde has more than 200 kilometres of hiking trails through its sumptuous coastline and scrubland, which will allow you to discover all the uniqueness of the local landscapes, villages hung in splendid waterfalls. If there is a waterfall to see absolutely during your escapade Corsica, it is the famous Cascade de l'Ucelluline. Located only 4 kilometers from the city center of Cervione between the villages of San Nicolao and Santa Maria Poggio, this waterfall coiled in a secret and preserved environment is a wild and absolutely magnificent site. With its clear and fresh waters, it is adored by curious walkers who have the chance to discover it. A little further inland, about thirty kilometres from Cervione, the Cascade de la Struccia is also worth a visit. Accessible from hiking trails set up in the middle of a chestnut forest, this superb natural waterfall is remarkable for its 15-metre waterfall that flows into truly magnificent emerald water. Overlooking the sea and offering countless breathtaking views of the open sea, the "Corniche Route" runs along the Costa Verde via a panoramic path: this is the perfect route to discover all the riches of the region, from Cervione to San Nicolao, including Poggio-Mezzana, Talasani, San Giuliano and Sant'Andrea di Cotone. Overlooking the sea and the Alesani valley, the "Route de la Corniche" will allow you to discover charming perched villages, viaducts, rivers, waterfalls and the great variety of Corsican landscapes. If there are many hiking trails, you will also find a whole host of cycle paths through the surrounding mountains: cyclists and mountain bikers can venture off the beaten track on more than 120 kilometres of tracks on the "Castagniccia Mare e Monti" mountain bike site, and more than 670 kilometres of road routes.
The village of Cervione is not without interest: we advise you to stroll along its narrow streets, punctuated by beautiful traditional houses. Organized around its imposing church, the village of Cervione is both picturesque and charming. The Saint-Erasme church is one of the highlights of your visit: if this baroque cathedral painted in yellow has a rather sober facade, the latter contains beautiful decorations, a superb decorated vault and an imposing 18th century organ. From the church square, the 16th century Episcopal Palace and the 17th century Canons' House are also worth seeing. From the city centre, you will also have to walk 85 kilometres along the Corniche de Castagniccia to reach "La Traversa", a lookout point from which you can admire a magnificent view of the sea and the village.
If you choose to settle down for your holiday on the Corsican coast, it is certainly for its legendary dream beaches. Cervione is fortunate to have some of them, much sought after in the region for their calm and exotic surroundings. Padulone Beach - Port Taverna" is a huge beach of fine sand with very few tourists. You will love it for its calm and its wide sandbank, as well as its proximity to the Port of Taverna: this marina will allow you to go on an excursion on the Tyrrhenian Sea, to discover the wonders of the coast. In its extension, "Plage de la Prunette" is the busiest beach in the whole municipality: stretching over several kilometres and bordering the eastern coast, this beach located in a Natura 2000 classified site is absolutely superb. It is also equipped with a water sports centre, which will allow you to practice many water sports such as scuba diving (the perfect activity to discover the splendour of the seabed), windsurfing, funboarding, water skiing, kayaking, wakeboarding, paddle, towed buoys or even surfing, catamaran and sailing.
