At the crossroads between Corte, Bastia and Calvi, Moltifao is authentic, traditional, exotic and surprising Corsica. For a relaxing or sporty, gourmet and sunny holiday, Moltifao is definitely a good idea.

Moltifao, or "Multifau" in Corsica, is one of those small historical villages which make the reputation of the Island of Beauty. Nestling in the hollow of the Caccia micro-region, in the centre of Corsica, the village is dominated by the Altare, which towers over the neighbouring valleys and the ancient village of Moltifao. When you arrive in the town, which is tiered on the hillside, you immediately notice its high and beautiful church. Built in a pure baroque style at the end of the 16th century, it has a high, so high bell tower, which makes it one of the highest in the whole of Corsica. Perched at an altitude of 423 metres, this splendid church invites the visitor to continue his discovery of the village thanks to its pretty alleys below. Here, an arcade, there, an old stone house, there again, a bridge... If there is one which is worth the detour, in addition to the bucolic Genoese bridge of Caccia, it is the Pontare Bridge. A Genoese bridge from the Middle Ages, it spans the Tartagine river which waters the town on the Pontare side and is a perfect site for a romantic stroll.

With the family, if it is an attraction not to be missed in Moltifao, it is indeed the visit of the Turtle Village. Centre for the protection of Hermann's turtles, the only land turtle still living in the wild in France, it shelters a good number of semi-captive turtles, which you can discover by following a small path marked out and decorated with fun panels, to learn all about this local star.

If the village of Moltifao is resolutely a quiet place, it is also perfect for hiking. Whether you are on foot, horseback or by bike, you can marvel at the beauty of the area from many routes through the dense vegetation that covers the municipality. There are a few nugget-like sites to be seen in the area, starting with the Convent of St. Francis of Caccia located right next to Moltifao, not forgetting the hilltop village of Castifao known for its honey and cereals. The Asco Valley is also worth a visit: from the unmissable town of Asco to the splendid Genoese bridge over crystal-clear water, the slopes of Monte Cinto and the Asco Gorge, lovers of outdoor sports and breathtaking nature are sure to be satisfied. Ah, the Asco Gorge... A little paradise, it marvels by the beauty of its route, in the middle of steep cliffs. Here you can do via ferrata thanks to suspension bridges, ladders and giant zip lines, and try to take a dip in the water, even though the water is only slightly cool in summer, no more than fifteen degrees. In addition, the Alto Asco is home to a ski resort on the Stagno plateau, at an altitude of 1450 metres (22 kilometres from Moltifao), perfect for a few ski descents when the snow is at its best in winter!
