Perched in the heart of the Haut-Giffre valley in Haute-Savoie, Morillon is a peaceful village that has preserved its pastoral tradition and its typical Savoyard architecture. Its traditional wooden houses grouped around its charming church give it a family atmosphere. Morillon is divided into two sectors: the village with its undeniable authenticity and the tourist resort.

Morillon 1100 is the name of the winter sports resort that developed near the village. Located between 680 and 2500 metres above sea level, Morillon 1100 is the ideal place for families of skiers looking for both gentle slopes and thrilling descents. There is something for all tastes and all levels in Morillon, young and old will find their happiness. The Morillon slopes have also seen several champions take their first steps. Antoine Dénériaz, Olympic downhill champion, spent his entire childhood on these slopes before joining Team Grand Massif at just 15 years old. More recently, the morillonnaise Argeline Tan Bouquet obtained the title of world junior champion in the telemark discipline in 2015. It is therefore a ski area full of promise and variety that awaits ski lovers.

Morillon 1100 is also part of a large related estate called Grand Massif. Flaine, Samoëns, Sixt and the Carroz have joined forces to form a true skier's paradise with 265 kilometres of slopes. There are also several play areas reserved for sliding. Morillon 1100 has no less than three, including Ze Kidz Park, an area dedicated to children.

If you are not skiing too much but still want to discover the joys of snow, no worries, winter activities are numerous in Morillon. Conquer sparkling landscapes on snowshoe hikes. On the marked out paths of the valley, you move in the heart of still nature accompanied by an expert mountain guide. Don't miss the night walk with fondue, which ends with a dinner prepared together in a yurt. This is one of the many theme walks proposed by Arnaud Rando, specialist of the Giffre valley.

Animal lovers will also find many activities to share with hairy companions. Horse riding or horse-drawn carriage rides, two very original ways to discover the valley accompanied by a majestic animal. Still with the horses, we test the ski joëring, new improbable discipline consisting in being drawn by your new friend, skis in feet. Finally, we let ourselves be carried towards the Great North in a walk in dogsled through the valley.
