In the heart of the Pre-Alps, in the Giffre valley, Samoëns has, with the seven mountains surrounding it, an extraordinary natural setting. Between history, panoramas, heritage and gastronomy, this millennial village of Haute-Savoie will seduce you in all seasons.

In winter, Samoëns invites you to enjoy the fourth largest connected ski area in France. With a summit culminating at 2500 meters of altitude, 146 slopes and 67 ski lifts, the Grand Massif is a true white paradise. Beginners can take the Marvel trail, which runs for more than 5 kilometres in the heart of a century-old forest. The experts will be able to launch themselves on the vertiginous track of the cascades which proposes more than 800 meters of uneven. For more fun, go to one of the three snowparks, including the Samoëns snowpark, and for a quieter ride, join the Nordic activity area of the Haut-Giffre valley and its 46 kilometres of trails.

In summer, Samoëns covers its green panoramas and offers a fabulous playground to spend time outdoors. With 600 kilometres of marked trails, the Haut-Giffre valley invites you to discover numerous natural sites such as the Lac des Chambres, the Col de la Golèse, the Tête de Vuargne or the Pointe de Bellegarde. The resort is also an ideal destination for mountain bikers who can take 28 developed trails that cross forests, rivers and footbridges over 180 kilometres. But also take advantage of your holidays to try your hand at new emotions : horse riding, climbing, via ferrata, caving, canyoning, rafting, hydro-speed, aqua rando, paragliding...

After a good day of activity, enjoy the charm of the village for a stroll. On the main square of Samoëns, enjoy the Grenette, a superb covered market dating from the 16th century, and the majestic lime tree which displays several centuries of existence. Then visit Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church, built in the 12th century but rebuilt in the 16th century and listed as a historical monument. Discover also the numerous chapels of the resort, the fortified houses and the magnificent botanical garden La Jaÿsinia which shelters the ruins of the castle of Montanier. After your walk, choose one of the good tables of the village to taste the regional recipes : raclette, tartiflette, diots, fondue, potée but also local cheeses like Crioutin, Bourgeoise or Freshness of Criou.

La boulangerie Tiffanie'' all good, the liquor store ''le nez en l'air'' excellent advice, the bar ''l'aprés ski'' counter service but a nice, shady place. But the main attraction is the hiking on all sides of the mountains :)
