In the north-east of Chamonix, a small village with a dozen hamlets spreads over the Savoyard pastures. Vallorcine is the name of this commune of Haute-Savoie with its undeniable charm. For many centuries, Vallorcine has survived largely thanks to agriculture, and its first visitors appeared after the birth of mountaineering in the vicinity of Chamonix, but it is above all its verdant nature, its cultural and Its authentic atmosphere that seduce those who stay in Vallorcine.

Preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the municipality, is a commitment that the Vallorcins have always strived to respect. On the hamlet of La Barberine, history buffs and little curious people will go without hesitation to the Museum of the House of Vallorcine. Set in a traditional house dating from the 18th century, its visit is a journey back in time. From the architecture of the restored place to the exhibitions on the village of yesteryear, the museum will amaze you by its diversity. Like all resorts of Haute-Savoie, Vallorcine has its own ski area. The Balme-Vallorcine ski area is suitable for all. It is separated into two sectors with each their particularity. At the Charamillon, one descends from the wide tracks, perfect for the calm skiers or to make its initiation. In Vallorcine itself, the slopes require a little more control : one skies among the pines. Also do not miss the filmed slalom course : in addition to timing its course like the champions, we recover the film after its descent. We do not do better as a holiday souvenir !

Balme-Vallorcine is also part of the large ski area of Chamonix Mont Blanc. It allows to sail on four ski areas distributed in several municipalities thanks to unique packages.
