South of the Hautes-Alpes, near the natural parks of Les Écrins and Queyras, the Forêt Blanche is one of the most beautiful areas in the Southern Alps. Between larch forest and majestic summits, it invites you, summer and winter, to enjoy all the pleasures of the mountain.

The White Forest owes its name to the countless larches that it shelters and that adorn themselves, in winter, with their beautiful snowsuits. Created in 1990 thanks to the link between its two resorts, Risoul and Vars, the estate has an exceptional environment and offers panoramic views over Haute-Savoie and the Alpes Maritimes. Twelfth skiable domain of France, it is distinguished by its sunshine, with 300 days of sun per year, and by its fabulous snow cover, with its numerous tracks above 2000 meters. Offering events and entertainment throughout the year, it offers an ideal setting for holidays full of surprises.

With 116 slopes with a total length of 185 kilometres, 42 ski lifts and altitudes between 1650 and 2750 metres, the Forêt Blanche ski area is a real paradise for downhill skiers. To experience the thrill, you can also discover the Vars speed ski piste, the Risoul slalom piste or the numerous freestyle areas of the domain which have more than 50 modules. But also have fun sliding on Risoul's ecological skating rink, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding and tobogganing trails.

During the summer, the greenery reappears on the alpine pastures and the White Forest invites you to breathe the pure mountain air in a different way. On foot, discover the Risoul Rando Park, the Val d'Escreins or the amazing lake of 9 colours. By mountain bike, take the unmissable Vars-Embrun descent which, over 32 kilometres, takes you from the summit of the Mayt to the edge of the Serre-Ponçon lake. Cycling enthusiasts can join the route des Grandes Alpes which passes through the Vars pass (2109 m). But also let yourself be tempted by the crazy descent of the Deval Sledge, by a paragliding or tyrolean baptism, by an initiation to climbing and via ferrata...
