Watered by the Adour river, the small village of Mugron takes place in the department of Landes, in the New-Aquitaine region. Situated 30 kilometres from Mont-de-Marsan and Dax, this perched village has all the cards in hand to allow you to experience a change of scenery, in the heart of nature.

Nicknamed by some the "Belvédère de la Chalosse" thanks to its location high above the Adour valley, Mugron is a holiday in its purest form. Only 50 minutes from the most beautiful Landes beaches, Mugron is a region rich in gourmet delicacies, marked gastronomy and centuries-old traditions of beef and duck breeding. Surrounded by vineyards, the village is dominated by its church with its high perched bell tower, which overlooks the entire valley from its peak. At the foot of the latter, and throughout the village, there are many food shops and craftsmen: the "Rouge Garance" shop and its superb decorative objects, the Duban hat shop (the only one in the Landes!), but also foie gras producers and restaurants where it is good to sit on terraces are legion. If you don't want to miss anything of Mugron, the "Petit Patrimoine" trail is a very good ally: in all, there are 20 points of interest that you will discover, allowing you to understand all about the local history and the secrets of its architecture. The 16th century Château de Boucosse is worth seeing, as is the town's pediment, the chapel and the Condrette arena. Dedicated to the Landes race and bullfighting, these wooden arenas attract many visitors every year, especially during Spanish races and Easter celebrations.

Thanks to a myriad of walking itineraries, you can cover the entire territory of the commune, from the banks of the Adour to the southern paths, including all the most beautiful perched lookouts that offer incomparable views of the valley. So many perfect itineraries for both seasoned hikers and Sunday walkers, which will allow you to discover all the magic that emanates from this balcony over the Landes. By taking the Voie Verte de Chalosse, the marked trails for mountain bikers, walkers and riders, you will be able to discover all the splendour of this little corner of the Landes! In addition to cycling and hiking, during the summer months, young and old alike can enjoy the banks of the Adour for a few refreshing breaks. While sunbathing on your towel, bathing in the river, fishing or taking a canoe trip on the river, you can make the most of the peace and quiet of the area, which is rarely visited by tourists. Finally, after a visit to the Moulin de Poyaller, an animal park located south of the village, head for the beaches of the Landes located less than an hour away. In Seignosse, Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains and Moliets-et-Maa, you can try your hand at water activities such as surfing, paddle, sailing, but also swimming and sunbathing... Enough to make many jealous!
