The seaside resort of Saint-Brévin-les-Pins, Saint-Brévin l'Océan is located on the Atlantic coast, in the Loire-Atlantique department. Facing Saint-Nazaire from which it is separated by the Loire estuary, this sunny destination is much appreciated by holidaymakers passing through the Nantes region, curious to taste the pleasures of water sports and the gentle way of life that emanates from this pretty corner of paradise.
60 kilometres west of Nantes, on the edge of the coastline along the Atlantic Ocean, Saint-Brévin l'Océan is always a good idea for holidaymakers looking for a change of scenery. Opposite Saint-Nazaire, to which Saint-Brévin-les-Pins is linked by the "Pont de Saint-Nazaire", the town, or rather the district of Saint-Brévin l'Océan, spreads out to the south of the town along the coast and facing the beaches, offering walkers beautiful panoramic views of the sea from the Boulevard de l'Océan promenade. Here, the beaches are long, very long, made of fine sand and ideal for bubbling in the sun. The ocean beach is undoubtedly the most emblematic of the resort. Pleasantly laid out, it remains however quite untouched by human hands and unrolls kilometers of soft bathing area for the whole family. Located south of the Pointeau nautical base, it conquers the hearts of many sportsmen and women who come here to practice water sports such as water walking, kayaking, sailing, catamaran or paddle. In its extension, in the direction of Saint-Michel-Chef-Chef and Pornic, the beach of Les Rochelets will conquer the hearts of holidaymakers who love wide open spaces. With its dunes and endless spaces, it is also famous for surfing and kitesurfing because of its beautiful exposure to the winds. Other small quiet beaches will complete the range of places to swim, walk (on foot, in Rosalie or on horseback!) and sunbathe in Saint-Brévin l'Océan!
Hikers ? Follow the paths of the GR8, which runs along the entire coast to allow you to contemplate its most beautiful treasures. A must to do? Go through the Forest of the Pierre Attelée! The only dune forest in Loire-Atlantique, the green lung of Saint-Brévin, it promises beautiful excursions in the shade of its pines and gigantic oaks and has the particularity of offering to contemplate exceptional panoramas of the ocean, since it offers direct access to the beaches from its paths. The GR8 will also allow you to discover Saint-Brévin further north, famous for its work the "Serpent d'Océan" located on the foreshore, and Saint-Nazaire which is worth the detour for its coastal paths, its culture, its good little places to eat and its mythical shipyards. Further south of Saint-Brévin l'Océan, Pornic and the Jade Coast are just waiting for you. Accessible by the coastal paths as well as by the magnificent Loire à Vélo itineraries, Pornic but also Les Moutiers-en-Retz and Nantes will complete your stay in Loire-Atlantique, for cultural, gourmet, sporting and nature visits, which will only make you want to come back next year!
