On the border of the Périgord Noir, not far from Quercy and Agenais, the small town of Blanquefort-sur-Briolance is one of the largest cities in Lot-et-Garonne. Dominated by its imposing 13th century castle perched on its rocky spur, the village of Blanquefort-sur-Briolance has many interesting sites to see as you pass through its walls. Its 11th century Romanesque church is listed as a historic monument, as is its castle. Built in the 12th century, this castle, recognizable by its square tower, round tower and keep, has been remodelled many times over the centuries and was finally adorned with a thick guard house in the 17th century. A defensive structure, now privately owned, it is one of the most emblematic sites in the municipality. As you stroll along its old streets steeped in history, you will also discover old mills and blast furnaces, which today bear witness to Blanquefort-sur-Briolance's rich industrial past. The 12th century Romanesque church on the La Sauvetat side is worth a visit, as is the one in the hamlet of Saint-Chailès, located not far from a lama farm.

The 10.4 kilometre "Un Château sur la Briolance" circuit is worth a visit, as is the "Circuit de la Lémance" (12.6 kilometres) in Saint-Front-sur-Lémance, the walk in the woods of Cuzorn, the walk in the woods of Lacaleppe-Biron (12 kilometres) or the paths in the Lède valley, starting from Gavaudun (a neighbouring village).
