Looking for a quiet holiday, far from the world and the crowds of seaside resorts? Need a stay in the countryside? Direction Savigny, in the Channel.

In the heart of the Normandy countryside, the small village of Savigny is inviting you to discover its authenticity and heritage. 10 kilometres from Coutances and about twenty minutes from the beaches of the Normandy coast, Savigny is the ideal place to pack your bags and enjoy the splendours of the region. Take the time to visit its old village, dotted with beautiful old monuments, such as its 11th century Notre-Dame church. With its Romanesque nave, thick mussels and bas-reliefs, it attracts many visitors every year. In terms of architectural heritage, the 16th century Manoir de Livet, the 18th century castle, the Landerie de Bas and the 20th century Notre-Dame Oratory should be added to your list of visits. While in Savigny, take the opportunity to make a stopover in the beautiful city of Coutances. Dominated by its imposing cathedral, the Norman Gothic cathedral of Notre-Dame, this city of Art and History has an impressive religious heritage in the image of Saint-Pierre Church, the former Convent of the Augustinians, the Sacré-Cœur or the chapels of La Mare or La Roquette.

Savigny is also the perfect place to enjoy the charms of the Normandy coast, thanks to its proximity to some of its most beautiful seaside resorts. Gouville-sur-Mer in particular, is only 25 kilometres from Savigny, allowing you to get to its beaches in no time. After strolling through its dunes dotted with a myriad of small cabins, each more colourful than the next, dive into the clear waters of Central Beach. With its tiralo allowing people with reduced mobility to swim, it is very popular with holidaymakers, and especially with sports enthusiasts who come to enjoy sailing, surfing, sailing, sea kayaking or paddling.

Finally, when passing through Savigny, it was impossible to miss the delights of Norman cuisine. Delicious to perfection, the flavours of the terroir will delight the taste buds of young and old alike. On the menu? Caen-style tripe, andouille de Vire, Teurgoule, cider, Calvados, camembert, milk jam, Norman escalope, bourdelot (also called Douillon), salted meadow lamb, scallops, Norman pancakes... Nothing very dietetic, we agree, but what a delight!
