Located on one of the largest and most beautiful of the Breton islands, Bangor is one of the 4 municipalities that make up Belle-Île en Mer. A change of scenery, wild and relaxing, this is the perfect place to pack your bags for a stay at the rhythm of the waves.

Blue: this is what comes to mind when we talk about Bangor. From the blue of its water to the blue of its shutters, (which contrast magnificently with the white of the houses), Bangor will captivate you with its beauty. With its slate roofs, small alleys and walking paths, this town is a real invitation to escape, with the permanent spectacle of the sea as a backdrop. A must during your stay, the Aiguilles de Port Coton are one of Bangor's emblematic sites: grandiose, these fascinating needles have long inspired painters, like Claude Monet who immortalized them in 1886 with his painting entitled "Les Pyramides de Port-Coton, mer sauvage" (now visible at the Musée Pouchkine, in Moscow). In calm weather, the panorama is amazing, thanks to the turquoise water and the small paradisiacal beach just in front of the needles (Kouar-Huédé cove). But in rough weather, when the foam of the waves creates large white cottony pools, this is where the site is most spectacular. The Port-Coton area is ideal for hiking along the jagged coast and through the fragrant coastal heaths. The Goulphar site is a must, as is the Stang Per valley: ideal for discovering the richness of the natural heritage and local vegetation, the latter will lead you through meadows and coastlines, for a perfect iodine walk. Mountain bikers will be able to enjoy many circuits and loops linking all the villages of Belle-Île en Mer, thanks to more than 80 kilometres of marked cycle paths: we particularly recommend the "La Côte Sauvage de Claude Monet" circuit (19.1 kilometres) as well as the Côte Sauvage trail linking the Aiguilles de Port Coton to the Grand Phare de Kervilahouen (1.2 kilometres).

Finally, what surprises Bangor is the great diversity of its landscapes: if the coast is mainly made of steep cliffs, it also has many beaches and coves of fine sand, real little paradises of tranquility. The beaches of Herlin, Kerek, Dotchot, Baluden, Goulphar or Porh Gwenn will satisfy families with their calm and crystal clear waters. They will delight water sports enthusiasts thanks to the wide range of activities offered by the sea: kayaking, catamaran, surfing, sailing, motor boat rental, fishing, bodyboarding (on Donnant beach), paddle and diving will be on the menu! For idyllic parentheses, don't miss Yeyew Creek (difficult to access), Domois Creek, or the wonderful Curé Creek and its dream setting that will welcome a few lucky people in its (small) postcard setting.
