Explore Guidel
In Morbihan, between Lorient and Quimperlé, Guidel combines many assets. Between its 5 km coastline, its nature reserve, its architectural and historical heritage, the resort invites you to spend a stay full of surprises and contentment.
With its long sandy beach, Guidel is, first of all, a place where you can fully enjoy the ocean. After a few moments of idleness and swimming, take to the waves by canoe, kayak, surf or paddle or discover new sensations in jet-ski, flyboard or towed buoy. If you wish to learn to sail, join the nautical base which proposes, to the small ones and the big ones, courses and training courses of dinghy and catamaran. But if you prefer to let yourself be guided, treat yourself to a sea trip to Groix Island or a cruise on the green ria of the Laïta.
After these marine pleasures, return to the mainland to discover Guidel's heritage. Inhabited since prehistoric times, the resort conceals megalithic sites.. But also appreciate the more recent monuments such as the seven chapels of the town, including that of Saint-Matthieu (15th century), the manor of Kerizouët, the thatched cottage of Manecohal or the castle of Kerbastic which now houses a hotel and hosts the Polignac music festival. Then take the time to admire the superb Loc'h fort. Built from 1756 on top of a mound, its imposing listed building faces the ocean and is regularly open to the public in summer.
Thanks to its large territory offering a great natural diversity, Guidel is also a favourite place to go for a walk. On foot, take the Douaniers path or follow the Laïta river. Then join the regional nature reserve of Loc'h and its path arranged to admire, since observatories, the numerous birds which nest there. By bike, follow the green route to Kerroch, near the Talud point, or follow the many itineraries that criss-cross the Scorff valley... After a good day's activity, treat yourself to a gastronomic break to taste local products : lobster, hot oysters, yellow place, pancakes, cider...
