Located between Lorient and Carnac, the small town of Plouhinec has everything to please. A rich natural and architectural heritage, a splendid coastline and a very special charm, which every year seduces many holidaymakers looking for a stay in the countryside.

Bathed by the clear waters of the Ria d'Étel and the Atlantic Ocean, Plouhinec reveals to its curious visitors more than 8 kilometres of splendid coastline, perfect for spending time with family or friends. Between forest and ocean, this small seaside resort enclosed between the small sea of Gâvres and the ria d'Étel will surprise you with the splendour of its panoramic views over the sea. Along the ria d'Étel, ideal for hiking, you will discover a rugged coastline, but also coves, beaches and small protected wild islands, where herons, crested cormorants and terns have made their home, a very precious heritage of this small part of Brittany. The Pont-Lorois crosses the ria river to connect the Pays de Lorient to the Pays d'Auray like a hyphen. Commissioned in 1956, this steel suspension bridge is one of the emblematic sites of the municipality of Plouhinec. Lovers of walking and breathtaking panoramas? How not to mention the Great Site of France of the Wild Dunes, from Gâvres to Quiberon: an immense sand arch created by the force of the wind and the whims of the ocean, these ocean dunes spread over more than 30 kilometres constitute the largest dune massif in Brittany. On foot on the GR34 or by bike via the V5 La Littorale, you will discover these infinite landscapes, preserved and steeped in history, dotted with megalithic alignments and archaeological sites, but also military sites such as the Porh Puns fort (in Gâvres) or the Penthièvre fort (in Quiberon). In Plouhinec, there are many sites to visit, from the port of Le Vieux-Passage and its waterfront houses to the Moulin de Berringue, via the Bar d'Étel and Le Magouër, the Pointe du Collet and the Gallo-Roman Villa of Mané-Vechen, not to mention the Rochers de la Vieille Batterie and the Ile de Fandouillec, you will discover all the most beautiful faces of this typically Breton village. Several marked out circuits await you, from 4 to 15 kilometres according to your desires: circuit 1 towards the ria d'Étel, circuit 2 between land and sea, circuit 3 to discover the heritage, circuit 4 "La Ria by the pine forests", circuit 5 of the undergrowth or those of the Vamen and Poul Huern wash houses.

Finally, since it is undeniably open to the sea, the seaside resort of Plouhinec is the perfect place to (re)discover with family or friends the joys of water sports. How about a sea kayak or kitesurfing session? A stand-up paddle outing in ria or at sea? A sailing, surfing, dinghy or catamaran course? A palm hike or a first dive?
