If you are new to Brittany, it is very difficult to tell you where to start your initiation. It is even more complicated to tell you what would be the most beautiful destination in Brittany where to stay as there are so many wonders in these lands. However, for a small concentration of the best in the field, Saint-Philibert seems to be the destination of choice. Cultural, historical, natural and grandiose, this small town has all the cards in hand to make you fall in love with Brittany in an instant. What makes the reputation of Saint-Philibert, to begin with, is its heritage. Its chapel "Notre-Dame-du-Flux-et-du-Reflux" (from the 17th century, also called "chapel Saint-Philibert") situated on the banks of the Ster, is certainly its most beautiful treasure. With its paintings, statues, small modules of boats and its adorable blue ceiling studded with stars, this atypical chapel is really, really worth the detour. While strolling in Saint-Philibert (on foot or by bike, it's ideal to enjoy the landscape!), you will also discover the Kerisper Bridge, the legendary former Constantini shipyards, the Kermané dolmen, the Kervehennec dolmen, the Saint-Philibert fort and the Kernevest lighthouse. For ever more "green" walks, the Kernevest bird reserve and the banks of the Crac'h river are good options. In the heart of the pines, the banks of the river will offer you incomparable points of safety both on the Kérisper Bridge and on the island of Cuhan and the port of Trinité-sur-Mer, a nearby seaside resort.
A spot we recommend? The Corniche de Saint-Philibert: from this natural viewpoint, you can contemplate an unforgettable panorama of the coast and the turquoise sea bordering Saint-Philibert. If by day the landscape is breathtaking, wait a little while to discover it at sunset, when the Breton sky is tinged with red, orange and purple, offering incredible contrasts and memories engraved in your mind. It should also be noted that the commune is criss-crossed by a large number of hiking trails for all levels of walkers, allowing everyone to discover magnificent views of the sea and the beaches bordering the resort, from the Kercadoret pond to the Pointe de Men-er-Bellec, via the Pointe de Keryondre and the Pointe de Kernevest.
Cradle of oyster farming in Southern Brittany, the one that is nicknamed (rightly) the "Cinderella of the coast" has a coastline nearly 15 kilometres long. Several beaches line the seaside, to the delight of lovers of sea bathing and nautical activities.
