Just thirty minutes from the Basque Country coastline and twenty minutes from the Spanish border, Cambo-les-Bains is located in the heart of an environment that is ideal for escape and rest. An immense garden city perched at 60 metres above sea level, Cambo-les-Bains enjoys a particularly magnificent vegetation, luxuriant and often made up of colourful exotic plants. Take the time to walk along the banks of the river Nive, to reach the "haut Cambo": here, the shopping lanes will lead you tirelessly to magnificent panoramas of the mountains, as well as the Nive Valley. The seventeenth century church is worth seeing, as is the Edmond Rostant museum located in the splendid local baroque Villa Arnaga. Then climb up the hill of the Bergerie, and walk along its walking path to contemplate its iconic chapel at the top and a breathtaking view over the whole of Cambo-les-Bains. Then go back down to the "lower Cambo" side to discover all the authenticity of the village: with its Roman bridge, its wash-house and its very old half-timbered houses whitewashed and painted red, the historic heart of Cambo-les-Bains is definitely a perfect postcard of the Basque Country! Impossible to pass by the Quartier des Thermes: spread over 15 hectares, including the thermal establishment, this absolutely magnificent park, both exotic and elegant, is the charming asset of Cambo-les-Bains. You will discover more than 80 palm trees, a splendid Art-deco architecture, shady alleys lined with high plane trees, a charming pontoon on the balcony of the Nive, a fountain, and dozens of different species of fragrant plants.
