A village remarkable for its authenticity and its ideal setting at the foot of the Canigou, the one that is also known as the "Paradise of the Pyrenees" is made up of small cobbled streets, magnificent wooded parks and very elegant districts. The washhouse on rue des Lavandières, the Natural History Museum on the allée du Parc du Casino and the Saint-Saturnin church are among the highlights of your stay. The latter, located on rue du Château, is a very good example of a 12th century Romanesque building and was once the astral chapel of the adjacent castle. With more than 2000 trees including at least 300 different species, Vernet-les-Bains proudly bears the title of "Village Arboretum", and during your walks through the city, you can discover many recreational and educational tours such as the "winter garden tour", the "conifer tour", or the "parks tour" in order to discover all its secrets. From flowered alleys to green gardens, you will discover by visiting Vernet-les-Bains its unmistakable thermal district with the sweet air of Belle Epoque. Located on the left bank of the Cady, around Charles Trenet Park, this elegant and green setting features a large number of wealthy residences and villas dating back to the Belle Epoque, including the city's Casino, as well as the Hôtel du Portugal and many other residences that you can discover by taking the path called "Chemin de Kipling".

And if, however, you would be more tempted by mountain bike excursions, then you should know that the "VTT-FFC Le Canigou" area has 12 itineraries from Vernet-les-Bains, more than 240 kilometres of marked trails running along the valleys of the Llitera, Rotja and Cady, which will allow you to admire wonderful panoramas of the Canigou at an altitude of 2785 metres. Finally, if you prefer quiet walks, remember to climb the famous little Yellow Train, a local pride overlooking some of the most magnificent panoramas of the Catalan countryside over a distance of 63 kilometres.
